FAITH AND LOVE
Scripture Reading - Colossians 1:3-4
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, KJV
These verses remind us to be thankful for those that you know who have faith in Jesus Christ and specifically those Christians that walk in love with the Body of Christ. You may think that those two requirements are common but in fact they are rare in the earth today. The scriptures foretold us in Matthew 24:12b that “the love of many shall wax cold” as a sign of the last days. This means that of the multitudes only a few will choose Christ Jesus as their Lord. Choosing Jesus through a public expression of our faith in Him is only the start. No one can truly understand the Love of God without being connected to God. This is why both criteria’s must be met of being in fellowship with God and displaying the nature of God. The person must first be a believer in God and confess their faith in Jesus Christ to open the door to further revelation of exactly how to love others. It is inconceivable to think that mere men can fully comprehend God’s great love without having a relationship with God. If we don’t love God by experiencing His Love for us we know nothing at all about love. If we try to watch TV or a movie (Hollywood) for an understanding of love we will be deceived. If we look to our love ones for a picture of love we will only understand some measure of human love, but we could also experience hurt and disappointment. The Holy Bible and the Person of Jesus Christ is the only pure form of God’s Love revealed to mankind in the earth today. Therefore abide in Christ Jesus as a child of God then develop your heart to love all saints, yeah, all people upon the face of the earth. When this type of demonstration of godliness is displayed before the people in the world that are hurting it gets their attention. We (IHLCC) are thankful to those who operate on this higher level of God’s character because they have been a blessing to us and our family members. This is the ultimate goal of all Christians to keep a robust faith in our personal Savior Jesus Christ and in His Grace distribute God’s Love continuously to others. The nature of man is quick to find fault and easily offended at others but God’s love is always quick to overlook the flaws (faults) of others and eager to forgive wrong actions or words. To all Christians that walk in this overflowing (agape) love we (our Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus Christ and ihlcc) say, “Thank you so very much, you are deeply appreciated and well beloved in the family God”. Amen!
